TUTORING

CISGC also has one-on-one programs geared specifically towards helping student’s achieve their academic goals. Many students need extra time and support to progress academically and becoming a tutor can help a student develop his or her academic skills. Volunteers assist students who are struggling in one or more of their core subjects – Math, Science, Reading, History and English. In our elementary schools, students need particular assistance in reading.

CISGC matches each tutor with a student based on the student’s needs and the tutor’s abilities. After a match is made, tutors spend approximately one hour once a week working with their student on homework, class projects, reading, or simply studying for an upcoming test.
